Os er ei typisk fjordbygd med 186 km strandline, eit eldorado for båtfolket: lune vikar, holmar og sund, attraktive friluftsområde ved sjø, mange fine turområde i fjell, skog og mark – og med høve til fiske i Oselva og i tilhøyrande vatn. Mellom attraksjonane er: Ole Bulls fantastiske Villa Lysøen og ruinane etter Lyse kloster frå år 1146. Os kommune har kring 14.000 innbyggjarar.

Os municipality in the county of Hordaland
Os municipality has a population of around 14.000 and is a typical fjord community with 186 km of coastline. This natural area is a paradise for sailing with its sheltered coves, charming islets and narrow sounds. The outdoor life here is varied with of course the sea and all its activities, but also many fine footpaths leading over mountains, through forests and meadows, and with plenty of fishing in the many lakes and the River Os. A wide variety of attractions are surrounded by this beautiful landscape, for example the wonderful Villa Lysøen where the violinist Ole Bull lived; and Lyse kloster, the ruins of a monastery from 1146.
