2022: Project about “æring” (boat for one pair of oars) – Study and measurement of the smallest boats in the Oselvar tradition. The project has resulted in a newly built “æring”. The work was carried out by Stig Salbu Henneman.
2018 – 2019: Measurement project – The larger Oselvar boats, “seksæring” for three pairs of oars, “åttring” for four pairs of oars and the “ladromsbåt”, larger boats for cargo transport. Boat builders and apprentices measured 10 – 15 large Oselvar boats in Hordaland county.
In 2016, boat builder Maik Riebort started a research project with support from the the Arts Council Norway and the Oselvarverkstaden Foundation. The project has been named “Oselvaren. How cultural exchange has shaped Norwegian boat building. An example study.”

Measurement project 2017 – 2019
In 2017, we received support from the the Arts Council Norway to document old large Oselvar boats. The project lasted over three years and we measured 15 boats. You can read more about the project here:
